Istanbul - April '10

A couple of days in Turkey, staying at a campsite on the northern Black Sea coast and spending a full day to browse the main attractions Istanbul has to offer. Needless to say Hagia Sofia was mesmerising, and the city itself enthralling with its bustling busy streets, markets and restaurants.

Skyworks - Jan '10

Australia day celebration in style! Perth city decides to show off with 30 minutes of fireworks. Not a bad way to make up for no fireworks at new year's!

Albany - Dec '09

A couple of days 'down south' in Albany over the Christmas weekend. The town of Albany was nice enough and the tree top walk was impressive....but no pictures from the Mt Clarence downhill track where I got to play with a 2010 Demo 8 downhill bike!

Scotland - Oct '09

5 day trip around Scotland. Starting up from Edinburgh, up to Inverness, past Loch Ness, through to the Isle of Skye and back down to Kinlochleven. Great weather in the middle of October !!!

Ireland - Sep '09

4 day whistle stop tour of Ireland. Ferry landing at Rosslare, up through Dublin, Drogheda, Belfast, Giant's causeway, Derry, Donegal, Galway, Conemara, Cliffs of Moher, back through Limerick, Kilkenny and off home! And it only rained once!!

Italy - May '09

The last RSM geology field trip. We flew down to Ancona, spent a few days in Scheggia, headed west to Perugia for another few days and then traversed to the island of Elba.

Borovetz - Apr '09

Skiing and photography don't mix, but taking it in turns produced some ok results for a first time. The skiing was much better anyway!!

Castellane - Jun '08

Castellane MkII! No surfing but plenty of swimming, cycling and walking. Highlights include camping at the Sommet de Cremon and a 6hr mountain bike tour of the lake up from Courchons down the west shore of the lake through the crazy La Baume and around the barrage in the south. All in all some rather gnarrrrly rocky path decents and a worthy return to Castellane altogether !
